Meet Lisa Harmon,
slipcover fabrication artist

I have always held a natural fondness of interior design.

My Mother opened an alteration shop as I was in high school. As it happens she asked me to make draperies for the store-front windows. I jumped at the idea. As a result of this project, I realized that sewing was second nature to me. She then hired me as a regular employee at her shop. Evidently, this was the start of a journey to my current passion for slipcover fabrication. And so I had discovered an outlet to my creative instincts that is now recognized as part of my natural life plan.

I made my first slipcover in 1990.

I had an ugly couch and enough denim to cover it. Consequently, my first slipcover was born. Since then, I’ve work and learned from many skilled colleagues. To clarify, my education has covered experiences in nearly every facet of the sewing industry. Along with slipcovers, this includes custom window treatments and bedding. Decidedly my most loved projects have predominantly been slipcover fabrication. And I know there are many who would love to have their furniture slipcovered but may not have the experience I’ve so passionately acquired.  Hence I recognized this as an affection I needed to share with others. I’ve been educated on the particulars of the process. And I have became comfortable enough to start doing slipcover fabrication by mail using pictures and measurements. I have an in-home workroom where all slipcovers, window treatments and bedding are fabricated.

I aim to blend my knowledge & creativity with your vision.
